f you're like us, you'll be entranced by Kathy Cranmer's botanicals. She achieves a unique sharpness and freshness in her paintings. At the same time, she is able to communicate the softness and vulnerability of the flowers and plants that she paints. Kathy's preferred medium is gouache, a heavy, opaque watercolor paint that produces a less wet-appearing and more strongly colored painting than regular watercolor. She believes the textural, more sculptural feel of gouache helps her reflect the plant or flower more accurately. She has been the recipient of several awards in juried shows and her watercolors are held in a number of private collections. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.
